Low-Cost Carrier Transavia Boosts Spanish Capacity by 17% for Summer 2026

22-09-2025

Transavia, the low-cost airline of the Air France-KLM group, will launch a new direct route between Sevilla and Marseille, France, starting March 29, 2026, as part of its summer season expansion. The new connection will operate twice weekly during the summer season, which runs through October 31, 2026, strengthening the carrier's presence in the Spanish market. Tickets for the upcoming season are already available for purchase through the airline's official website.

The Marseille route is part of Transavia's broader strategy to increase connectivity between Spanish cities and destinations in France, the Netherlands, and Belgium. This expansion will result in a 17% increase in available seats compared to the previous summer, according to company statements. Before the summer season begins, Transavia will also introduce a Sevilla-Toulouse route in late October, operating twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays during the winter season.

With these additions, Transavia will offer eleven European destinations from Sevilla, positioning the Andalusian capital as one of the airline's key operational bases in Spain. The carrier currently connects Sevilla with Amsterdam, Eindhoven, and Rotterdam in the Netherlands; Brussels in Belgium; and Bordeaux, Lyon, Montpellier, Nantes, and Paris in France. The new routes demonstrate Transavia's continued commitment to the Spanish market.

Transavia's growth in Spain is part of a larger European expansion plan that includes increasing capacity across multiple Spanish destinations including Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Málaga, Alicante, Canary Islands, and Balearic Islands. The airline's innovative ticket resale platform provides passengers with greater flexibility when planning their travels, complementing the network expansion strategy that focuses on enhancing connectivity throughout Europe.
