Ryanair Flight Attendants Injured by Severe Turbulence on Spain-Mallorca Route

22-09-2025

Two Ryanair flight attendants sustained injuries after their aircraft encountered severe turbulence during a flight from Vitoria on the Spanish mainland to Palma in Mallorca. The incident occurred as the crew was performing safety checks just minutes before landing, with approximately 180 passengers onboard. Emergency services were dispatched to Son Sant Joan airport to meet the aircraft upon arrival.

According to reports, one flight attendant was thrown against the ceiling of the cabin during the sudden jolt, while another was struck by a service trolley they were pushing down the aisle. Most crew members were standing at the time of the incident, which occurred without warning after an otherwise smooth and punctual flight. The extent of the injuries remains unclear, though both attendants were described as being badly injured.

The turbulence struck as storms and heavy rains began affecting the Mallorca region, contributing to broader travel delays. Passengers reported moments of panic during the ordeal, though the aircraft landed safely and passengers were able to disembark after medical attention was provided to the injured crew. An ambulance met the plane at the stairs to assist the affected staff members.

Ryanair has not immediately commented on the incident, which follows other recent turbulence-related incidents involving the airline. The flight had been operating normally until the sudden turbulence disrupted the final approach, highlighting the unpredictable nature of weather-related disruptions during air travel.
